Why do we need Oracle cards?

Oracle cards are tools that are used to access the intuition. By shuffling a deck of Oracle cards, you are putting your thoughts and energy into the cards. When you ask a question or set an intention while you are shuffling the cards, this also becomes connected to the cards.

Then you select one or more cards to provide insight into your question or intention.

The right cards always show up

I have continually been amazed at how the exact right cards always seem to show up in every oracle card reading I do for myself.

This is definitely where the magic and the mystery of working with Oracle cards is felt.

Oracle cards help you trust your intuition

Personally, I started using oracle cards of different types back in the late 1980s. At the time, I wasn’t as confident in how to access my inner knowing and my intuition. Drawing an animal card, or a Celtic Rune or an Angel card seemed to help me find answers to my questions. ‘

At the very least, it would shine a Light on how to view a current situation differently.

We don’t know how helpful they are until we try them

For this reason, I feel that spending time playing with Oracle cards can be very useful. It is definitely one of those things that you don’t know you need until you start playing with them. It is easy to be critical of dabbling in intuitive cards when you have no experience with them.

However, we all have to start somewhere and sometimes after receiving your first reading, you will open up to this way to access your own intuitive guidance.

Divinely inspired art and guidance

As my afternoon Reiki client noted today, she was glad that my Oracle deck had less cards than a standard tarot deck. It felt less overwhelming to her to learn how to use my cards.

The Insight Oracle card deck has 25 of my original paintings represented. I view my art as being divinely inspired, allowing inspiration to guide the creative process. As I spent time pondering each card, my intuition would inform me what each card was about. I hope you find them as inspiring as I do.

Working with Oracle cards is about finding access to your inner knowing. Creating an opportunity for these intuitive thoughts to drop in on a regular basis is what starts the process. As you receive an intuitive thought, it’s helpful to write it down into your journal.

Once you begin writing your thoughts into your journal, sometimes it takes on a life of its own. You start by writing your questions down into your journal and then all of the sudden, you might start receiving insights.

I feel that journaling is like any other muscle, the more you do it, the more the process will expand and develop. The end and the beginning of a new year are both great times to begin a journaling habit.
