Free Yourself from Stuck Images
Do you ever wish you could stop seeing certain images in your mind? What if you could resolve these images and never see them again? Learning how to reframe them with Divine Light might help restore your sense of peace and calm.
Stuck images and their types
Images that might stick in your mind could be happy, sad, frustrating, traumatic, embarrassing, regretful, exciting, etc. These traumatic images may seem to take on a life of their own, popping into your mind when you least expect it. They could be from personal events, societal struggles, or tragedies from the news. There are many techniques to get traumatic images out of your head.
Commonly, these stuck images will feel emotionally charged. You might not realize how much better you would feel if you were able to free yourself from stuck images.
What made me explore this
My Reiki clients bring whatever is bothering them into their sessions. We always begin the reiki session by checking in to see, “What’s up?” This is code for, “What are you bumping into in your life that is making you uncomfortable?” After they share, I am inspired to create a divinely guided session which will help them to resolve their issue.
Learn by doing
When a Reiki client had suffered trauma from finding a parent unexpectedly deceased, he found could not get the images out of his mind. I immediately asked for Divine help to show me how to help. With the client lying on the Reiki table, already being filled with the self-healing light of Reiki, I began to see helpful images in my mind’s eye.
Bringing stuck images to Light
Simple technique to transform any image:
- Slowly recall the image that bothers you.
- Begin to soft focus on the image, letting go of details.
- Allow the soft focus to take over and blur the images.
- As you soft focus, imagine beams of Light pouring into the image.
- Notice/imagine Divine beings filling the image with Light.
- Feel the support of the Divine which had been present all along.
- Breathe and allow yourself to feel supported, now and in the past.
- Soft focus once again on the original image.
- Does the image feel different? Less charged? More peaceful?
Apply this technique to any stuck images/ experiences/ situations that you feel stuck in.
While this is a simple technique, Reiki clients may benefit from experiencing this technique in their Insight Services Reiki session.
Keep on “keepin’ on”
As a believer in continuously working on myself, I took advantage of using this technique on an older trauma image that recently popped up. Even though it happened 43 years ago, during my master’s degree oral examination, I am still occasionally reminded of it. Whenever I am reminded of a past trauma that still feels pretty intense, I see an opportunity to do some self-healing.
There is no time limit for healing yourself
In this instance, I soft focused on the images remaining from my examination where one big male ego had derailed my test. Seeing the Light pour into an event that happened 43 years ago and transform it, surprised even me.
Why we need to lighten our load
All these old traumas we carry around and pull out occasionally to share at dinner parties, actually don’t serve us at all. We think that if we can laugh about them, that they aren’t weighing us down. Unfortunately, the opposite is true.
We thrive on a clear signal
Consider the fact that old, unresolved traumas are stuck energy. This type of energy by definition doesn’t move out. Ideally, we need to keep our flows clear. Stuck images or experiences are like static which interfere with clarity. Each time we resolve a piece of our past, we experience a burst of clarity.
How do you know when an image needs resolution?
I can usually feel the intensity when a client is sharing detail after detail from an event. When we are overly attached to a past event, we are usually attached to over sharing too many details about it. Once it’s resolved, it begins to drift outside the radar. It becomes easier to share the cliff notes version or not at all. The unfortunate thing about repeating stories which are not resolved, you are re-traumatizing yourself in the re-telling.
