Our human form holds the memory of all our life experiences and
is the record keeper of our life. Four levels
of response are
associated with every experience, even though one level may appear to be dominant.
These four levels are
the physical,
the mental,
the emotional,
and the spiritual.
These four levels make up our
body, mind and spirit. Below are examples of
typical life experiences which help demonstrate ways we may
experience each of these levels.

Physically,
when we have an accident and break a bone, we experience pain and swelling.
Emotionally, we may feel
shock, fear, guilt, and anger.
Mentally, we may
feel stupid for breaking the bone or we may blame ourselves
for the accident. Spiritually, we may feel
disconnected from God as we suffer in pain.
|
|
Mentally, one may feel
confused and overwhelmed while learning a foreign language.
Emotionally, we may feel panic, anxiety, or even hopelessness.
At the same time, physically, we could be fidgety or restless.
Spiritually, we may not be inspired to believe that we can actually learn easily.
|
| Emotionally, we might feel fear before performing in a school play.
Physically, we may experience tightness, tension or
butterflies in our belly. Mentally, we may feel
inadequate, inferior,
or unprepared.
Spiritually, we may
forget to pray for Divine help and guidance.
|
|
Spiritually, when experiencing financial
difficulties, one may lose faith that the
universe will provide. Emotionally, we may feel
hopeless about our situation. Mentally, we may
believe we are inadequate. Physically,
we may experience low energy, and be unable to create
change in our life. |
