Dear reader,

Recently, when I was looking over our freshly published weekly newsletter, I caught sight of a couple of glaring mistakes that had been made in the writing.

First, I felt shocked to see the errors and wondered, “Did this really happen?” Next, I felt disappointed to realize that I was responsible for these errors. This was soon followed by feelings of incompetence and stupidity. Eventually, I moved into a resigned acceptance; “There’s nothing I can do about it now.”

Have you ever experienced something similar? Did you put time and energy into something, hoping to make it perfect? And did you get your hopes up and have high expectations, only to be disappointed?

Perhaps when we expect perfection, we are setting ourselves up to fail. What are your expectations around perfection?

Perhaps it is time for us to learn how to love our imperfections.

My latest blog post, How to love your imperfections, is all about how and why perfectionism manifests (Hint: early childhood is where we learn many of these behaviors...) plus the process I’ve used to loosen perfectionism’s grip on me and why strengthening and listening to my intuition helps.

Also, on my YouTube channel, I now offer audio versions of my blogs for people who prefer to listen. Click on the image below to listen to this week’s blog. And, please let me know what you think in the comments.

Schedule virtual, and now, in-person sessions (!) with me

I have a bright and airy new space in Shepherdstown, WV, to offer Reiki, Bright or the combination of Reiki/Bright. For those of you who are local, and able to come into my new office I want to invite you to sign up for a session in person!

Alternatively, I still offer online sessions and I’m happy to work with you virtually.
Reiki works wonders whether you’re in the same room, or thousands of miles apart. If you don’t believe it, try a session to see.
